Superintendent's Corner
Dear Tekoa Charter School Parents and Families,
Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year!
As Superintendent of Tekoa Charter School, I am committed to providing every student with a safe, supportive, and challenging learning environment. Our students deserve an education that prepares them not only for the next grade level, but also for college, a career, and life beyond the classroom.
This year, we are expanding opportunities for students to discover their interests, develop their talents, and build confidence. Students will have opportunities to participate in chess, music, step team, soccer, the arts, STEAM activities, and Knight News, our student news club. In addition, all high school students will have the opportunity to enroll in college courses and begin earning college credit while completing their high school education.
I am equally committed to ensuring that our parents and families have meaningful opportunities to be involved. Parents are essential to student success, and I want you to feel welcomed, informed, and heard. Throughout the year, families will be invited to participate in parent meetings, school programs, family engagement activities, volunteer opportunities, campus events, surveys, and committees.
I commit to listening to your concerns, communicating openly, and working with our principals and staff to meet the needs of our students and families. We may not always agree on every matter, but you can expect your voice to be heard and your concerns to be treated with care and respect.
I ask that you partner with us by making daily attendance a priority, remaining involved in your child’s education, communicating with teachers and school leaders, and encouraging your child to take full advantage of the opportunities available at Tekoa.
Thank you for trusting me to lead Tekoa Charter School and for trusting our staff with your children’s education. Some of you have placed your trust in Tekoa for generations, allowing us to serve your children, grandchildren, and other members of your families. I do not take that trust or responsibility lightly. I am committed to serving every student and family with care, honesty, dedication, and excellence.
I am excited about what we will accomplish together during the 2026–2027 school year. With our parents, staff, students, and community working together, I believe this will be a year of growth, opportunity, and achievement for every Tekoa student.
Sincerely,
Dr. Princess Chretien
