Special Projects

On Friday, December 14th, Tekoa Academy of Accelerated Studies along with its partners hosted a $10,000 shopping spree for local families at Target in Central Mall from 10 AM to 12 PM. To qualify, 35 families attended a 2-day "Family Financial Literacy" Workshop at Tekoa Academy.

On Tuesday, December 11th, students from Tekoa Academy of Accelerated Studies traveled to the Toyota Center in Houston to participate in a Robotics Day facilitated by Microsoft involving artificial intelligence, robotics and e-gaming including students from metro Houston ISD's and internationally from Australia and New Zealand.  Furthermore, students got to attend a Houston Rockets' basketball game that evening.

On Monday, December 10th, students from Tekoa Academy of Accelerated Studies traveled to Lamar University's School of Engineering to learn how scientists are using algae for wastewater treatment and as a fuel source.
